Historique
La croix s'élève au carrefour d'un chemin rural avec la route N692, à proximité nord du chevet de la chapelle de Villemoneix. Un bloc de granit en forme de dôme sert de socle au fût de la croix. La base cubique du fût octogonal est engagée sur ce socle. Ce fût supporte la croix par l'intermédiaire d'un noeud portant une inscription en caractères gothiques. La croix présente un montant et des bras cubiques terminés par des fleurons formés de quatre crochets de part et d'autre d'un bouton terminal. Le Christ couronné figure sur la face nord ; la Vierge sur l'autre. Détachés du montant, des personnages sculptés en relief sont représentés debout au pied de la croix : deux saintes femmes joignant les mains au sud ; la Vierge et Saint-Jean de chaque côté du Christ.

History
The cross rises at the crossroads of a rural path with road N692, to the north near the chevet of the chapel of Villemoneix. A block of granite in the shape of a dome serves as base for the shaft of the cross. The cubic base of the octagonal shaft is engaged on this base. This shaft supports the cross by means of a knot bearing an inscription in Gothic characters. The cross presents a post and cubic arms terminated by fleurons formed of four crockets on either side of a terminal button. The crowned Christ appears on the north face; the Virgin on the other. Detached from the post, figures sculpted in relief are represented standing at the foot of the cross: two holy women with joined hands to the south; the Virgin and Saint John on either side of the Christ.
