Monument sculpté vers 1870 par Jean Cacaud pour sa famille. Selon la tradition orale, il était tailleur de pierre et aurait vécu longtemps dans une cabane au flanc du mont de la Bauze. La sépulture se présente sous la forme d'une tombe rectangulaire où sont dressés, sur deux de ses côtés, cinq stèles ornées de scultpures et terminées par un fronton. La stèle centrale, à l'arrière du tombeau, était probablement dédiée à la soeur de Jean Cacaud, qui était couturière. La stèle la plus à droite et à l'arrière du tombeau est formée d'une dalle flanquée de deux colonnettes supportant un fronton sculpté de denticules. La plus ornée des stèles est celle située en arrière du tombeau, à gauche. Le montant médian portait un petit personnage encapuchonné, agenouillé sur un morceau de fût au décor de feuilles imbriquées, et posé sur un masque humain qui subsiste. History
Monument sculpted around 1870 by Jean Cacaud for his family. According to oral tradition, he was a stonemason and is said to have lived for a long time in a hut on the side of the mont de la Bauze. The burial takes the form of a rectangular tomb on two of whose sides are erected five steles decorated with sculptures and terminated by a pediment. The central stele, at the rear of the tomb, was probably dedicated to Jean Cacaud's sister, who was a seamstress. The rightmost stele at the rear of the tomb is formed of a slab flanked by two small columns supporting a pediment sculpted with dentils. The most ornate of the steles is that located at the rear of the tomb, on the left. The central upright bore a small hooded figure kneeling on a piece of shaft with decoration of overlapping leaves, and set on a human mask which survives. On either side stand two fluted pillars supporting a projecting entablature on which is placed an openwork triangular pediment with a trilobe beneath which is inscribed a bearded head supported by two dogs. The ramps are furnished with statuettes. At the summit, a cross crosslet rises on a shaft on either side of which stand a man and a woman wearing a large falling veil.
