Une mosaïque gallo-romaine d'une vingtaine de mètres carrés occupant le fond d'un bassin a été découverte fortuitement à l'occasion du défonçage d'un champ en avril 1979. Elle porte un décor associant une figuration divine à des groupes de figures animales. Au centre, dans un losange, est représentée la tête du dieu Océan. Sur les côtés se trouvent des panneaux rectangulaires décorés les uns de motifs géométriques, les autres de canards, dauphins, poissons et autres animaux marins. Cette mosaïque est, de par son décor, d'une grande rareté parmi les productions de l'école d'Aquitaine.

History
A Gallo-Roman mosaic of about twenty square metres occupying the bottom of a basin was discovered by chance on the occasion of the digging of a field in April 1979. It bears decoration combining divine figuration with groups of animal figures. At the centre, in a lozenge, is represented the head of the god Oceanus. On the sides are found rectangular panels decorated some with geometric motifs, others with ducks, dolphins, fish and other sea animals. This mosaic is, by virtue of its decoration, of great rarity among the productions of the Aquitaine school.
