History
Created around 1840, the prison was decommissioned at the Liberation. It is a rectangular building flanked by two pavilions. The building is doubled on the north and east sides by a long corridor where prisoners paced back and forth. Cones of masonry have been placed in the angles to prevent escapes. The East façade overlooks an interior courtyard. Inside, four large rooms are distributed at the angles of the prison, providing a central space allowing circulation through a transverse corridor and the staircase.
