Historique
Hôtel néo-classique, dont la construction ruina son propriétaire, élevé de 1780 à 1785 par l'abbé Jean Marie d'Orlan de Polignac, prieur de Saint-Martin de Layrac dont les revenus furent insuffisants pour achever la construction. Les dispositions sont celles de l'hôtel parisien entre cour et jardin. Il se compose d'un corps de bâtiment central avec deux ailes en retour formant une cour fermée sur la rue par un mur de clôture, fait de colonnes doriques soutenant un entablement et de grilles en fer forgé. La façade occidentale s'élève sur deux niveaux au-dessus d'un soubassement constitué de deux étages de caves voûtées. L'avant-corps central est rythmé par des colonnes ioniques géminées sur les côtés, soutenant au premier étage un balcon en fer forgé et, au niveau de la couverture, un fronton triangulaire.

History
Neo-classical mansion, the construction of which ruined its owner, erected from 1780 to 1785 by the Abbé Jean Marie d'Orlan de Polignac, prior of Saint-Martin de Layrac whose revenues were insufficient to complete the construction. The layout follows that of the Parisian mansion between courtyard and garden. It consists of a central block of building with two wings in return forming a courtyard closed onto the street by a boundary wall, made of Doric columns supporting an entablature and wrought-iron grilles. The western façade rises over two storeys above a basement formed by two storeys of vaulted cellars. The central projection is articulated by paired Ionic columns on the sides, supporting on the first storey a wrought-iron balcony and, at roof level, a triangular pediment.
