Possession ancienne de l'abbaye de Saint-Denis à laquelle elle fut restituée une première fois en 802 par Charlemagne, une seconde fois au 11e siècle pour faire partie du patrimoine du prieuré de la Chapelaude. Au 16e siècle, passe parmi les dépendances du prieuré de Benevent, en Limousin. Edifice roman composé primitivement d'une seule nef de deux travées et d'un trnsept saillant sur lequel ouvrait un choeur précédant une abside en hémicycle, flanquée d'un clocher. Les collatéraux datent de l'époque moderne. La nef est actuellement terminée par une charpente, mais primitivement, par une voûte sur doubleaux reposant sur les colonnes encore en place dans les murs latéraux. Le clocher carré est percé sur chaque face de son étage de deux baies en plein cintre, recoupées chacune par une colonnette et surmontées d'un double cordon de billettes. La partie supérieure, couronnée d'une flèche, remonte au 17e siècle.

History
Ancient possession of the abbey of Saint-Denis to which it was returned a first time in 802 by Charlemagne, a second time in the 11th century to become part of the patrimony of the priory of La Chapelaude. In the 16th century, it passed among the dependencies of the priory of Benevent, in Limousin. Romanesque building originally composed of a single nave of two bays and a projecting transept on which opened a choir preceding a hemicircular apse, flanked by a bell tower. The aisles date from the modern period. The nave is currently terminated by a roof structure, but originally by a barrel vault on double arches resting on columns still in place in the lateral walls. The square bell tower is pierced on each face of its storey by two round-arch openings, each recrossed by a small column and surmounted by a double string of billettes. The upper part, crowned with a spire, dates to the 17th century.
