La fontaine de la Flèche doit son nom à la corporation des chevaliers de la Flèche installés depuis 1737 autour de la cour des archers. Elle se compose d'un bassin circulaire entourant un fût central carré amorti par une pomme de pin posée sur un socle mouluré en cavet renversé. Chaque face du fût est évidée en table à bords moulurés. Le sommet des faces nord et sud est orné d'un masque par la bouche duquel jaillit l'eau. Cette fontaine est l'une des trois fontaines isolées datant de l'Ancien Régime que conserve Clermont.

History
The fountain of la Flèche owes its name to the corporation of knights of la Flèche established since 1737 around the archers' courtyard. It consists of a circular basin surrounding a square central shaft crowned by a pine cone placed on a base moulded with a reversed cavetto. Each face of the shaft is hollowed out as a table with moulded edges. The top of the north and south faces is adorned with a mask from the mouth of which water springs forth. This fountain is one of three isolated fountains dating from the Ancien Régime that Clermont preserves.
