Historique
L'église fut donnée en 927 par Acfred, duc d'Aquitaine, au prieuré de Sauxillanges, donation confirmée par une bulle de 1096. Cet édifice est formé d'une nef à chevet plat, voûtée en berceau brisé, à laquelle ont été ajoutées des chapelles latérales. Un clocher rectangulaire a été remonté à une époque récente. Le portail d'entrée est fermé par deux vantaux en bois du 15e siècle, formés de planches clouées sur une armature extérieure de larges croisillons formant des compartiments rectangulaires. L'assemblage de ces derniers est fait à queue d'aronde et maintenu à l'aide de clous en fer forgé à tête arrondie ou pointe de diamant. La fermeture est assurée par un lourd verrou en fer forgé, gravé, ainsi que sa poignée articulée, de différents motifs (croix, fleurs de lys, ondes...).£

History
The church was given in 927 by Acfred, duke of Aquitaine, to the priory of Sauxillanges, a donation confirmed by a bull of 1096. This building is formed of a nave with flat chevet, vaulted in broken barrel vault, to which lateral chapels were added. A rectangular bell tower was re-erected at a recent period. The entrance portal is closed by two wooden doors of the 15th century, formed of planks nailed to an external framework of large cross-pieces forming rectangular compartments. The assembly of these latter is made with dovetail jointing and maintained with iron nails forged with rounded or diamond-point heads. The closure is assured by a heavy iron-forged bolt, engraved, as well as its articulated handle, with different motifs (crosses, fleurs de lys, waves...).
