Historique
Cette borne et la croix au pied de laquelle elle est dressée, marquent l'emplacement de l'église Saint-Calmin. Il est fait mention en 1348, dans une transaction entre le roi, en tant que seigneur de Riom, et l'abbé de Mozat, de la délimitation de leur justice respective. C'est une borne parallélépipédique dont la face tournée vers l'est est gravée d'une fleur de lys, emblème de la ville de Riom. Sur la face ouest, se trouve la hampe verticale d'une crosse abbatiale reliée par un large noeud bulbeux à une volute, emblème de l'abbé de Mozac. A l'occasion d'un réaménagement urbain, l'orientation de la borne initiale (crosse à l'Est et fleur de lys à l'Ouest) n'a pas été respecté comme en témoigne les images en ligne.

History
This boundary marker and the cross at the foot of which it is raised, mark the location of the church of Saint-Calmin. Mention is made in 1348, in a transaction between the king, as lord of Riom, and the abbot of Mozac, of the delimitation of their respective jurisdictions. It is a parallelepiped boundary marker whose face turned towards the east is engraved with a fleur-de-lis, emblem of the town of Riom. On the west face, is found the vertical shaft of an abbatial crosier connected by a large bulbous knot to a volute, emblem of the abbot of Mozac. On the occasion of an urban redevelopment, the orientation of the original boundary marker (crosier to the East and fleur-de-lis to the West) was not respected as evidenced by the images online.
