Historique
Eglise du 11e siècle, de pur style auvergnat, dont le plan primitif se composait d'une abside semi-circulaire entourée d'un déambulatoire sans chapelles ; d'une nef à bas-côtés dont la longueur pouvait être celle, actuelle, de cinq travées, y compris celle du narthex ; d'un transept sans bas-côtés ; d'un clocher central élevé sur la croisée. Le narthex devait être surmonté d'une tribune et de deux clochers à l'extrémité occidentale. Les bas-côtés étaient surmontés d'un triforium en demi berceau. A cette galerie répondait, extérieurement, une rangée d'arcatures au-dessus d'arcs longitudinaux reliant les contreforts. History
Church of the 11th century, of pure Auvergne style, whose primitive plan was composed of a semi-circular apse surrounded by a deambulatory without chapels; a nave with aisles whose length could be that, current, of five bays, including that of the narthex; a transept without aisles; a central bell tower raised over the crossing. The narthex was to be surmounted by a tribune and two bell towers at the western extremity. The aisles were surmounted by a triforium in half barrel vault. To this gallery corresponded, externally, a row of arcading above longitudinal arches linking the buttresses. Several modifications were made to the building, in particular the reconstruction of the western façade of the nave over one and a half bays, and that of the central bell tower above the dome in the 19th century. Inside, one hundred and ten capitals sculpted with vegetative or narrative ornaments.
