En 990, l'église est donnée au prieuré de Sauxillanges. Il y eut un prieuré qui, en 1789, dépendait de Saint-Caffre. L'église comprend une nef de trois travées, à voûte en berceau brisé ; un choeur à chevet semi-circulaire, voûté en cul-de-four. Une petite chapelle s'ouvre au sud, dans la première travée à partir du choeur. Au fond de la nef se trouvent deux piliers cylindriques engagés surmontés de chapiteaux romans à feuillages. La tourelle ronde renfermant un escalier à vis fait une forte saillie dans le mur ouest de la dernière travée de bas-côté. Le portail occidental est à arc brisé à trois voussures de mouluration saillante à profil circulaire. Les montants sont formés de trois colonnes recevant l'arc sur des chapiteaux. Il est précédé d'un porche de deux travées voûtées d'ogives avec clefs de voûte sculptées, l'une d'elles portant l'année 1588. Le clocher carré se trouve au-dessus de la dernière travée. Il comporte, sur chacune de ses faces, des baies géminées à arcs en plein cintre retombant sur une colonnette médiane ronde surmontée d'un chapiteau. La voûte intérieure est une coupole sur trompes. Au côté sud de l'église se trouve le cimetière du village. A l'entrée de celui-ci existe un trou circulaire qui paraît se continuer assez profondément, servant probablement d'ossuaire.

History
In 990, the church was given to the priory of Sauxillanges. There was a priory which, in 1789, was dependent on Saint-Caffre. The church comprises a nave of three bays, with a broken barrel vault; a choir with a semi-circular chevet, vaulted with a cul-de-four. A small chapel opens to the south, in the first bay from the choir. At the far end of the nave are two engaged cylindrical pillars topped with Romanesque capitals with foliage. The round turret containing a spiral staircase projects strongly from the west wall of the last bay of the aisle. The western portal has a pointed arch with three moulded voussures with circular profile. The jambs are formed of three columns receiving the arch on capitals. It is preceded by a porch of two bays with rib vaults with sculptured vault keys, one of them bearing the year 1588. The square bell tower is located above the last bay. It comprises, on each of its faces, twin openings with round arches resting on a central round columnette topped with a capital. The interior vault is a dome on squinches. On the south side of the church is the village cemetery. At its entrance there is a circular hole which appears to continue quite deep, probably serving as an ossuary.
