Construit face à la baie de Cancale, probablement par Garangeau, venu dresser les plans des parcs à huîtres vers 1725, le Vaulerault est dû à la famille Cheville. Une avenue mène à la propriété entièrement close qui comprend, outre le logis, une chapelle, des communs plus récents et une vieille tour de guet près du rivage. Le Vaulerault présente, sur ses deux façades, le même avant-corps à trois travées. Cet édifice conserve un décor intérieur dont certains éléments sont particulièrement remarquables, notamment le sol de l'actuel grand salon (ancienne salle à manger) en marbre polychrome, ou la rampe d'escalier sculptée.

History
Built facing the bay of Cancale, probably by Garangeau, who came to draw up plans for the oyster parks around 1725, the Vaulerault is due to the Cheville family. An avenue leads to the entirely enclosed property which comprises, besides the main dwelling, a chapel, more recent outbuildings and an old watchtower near the shore. The Vaulerault presents on both its façades the same avant-corps with three bays. This building preserves interior decoration of which certain elements are particularly remarkable, namely the floor of the current great hall (former dining room) in polychrome marble, or the sculpted staircase railing.
