History
The estate of Fouilleuse is acquired in 1898 by Edmond Blanc, wealthy horse-breeder and deputy for Basses-Pyrénées. On this estate of 83 hectares, he creates the Racing and Training Grounds of Saint-Cloud, inaugurated in 1901 under the auspices of the Society for the Encouragement of the Turf. Many buildings - guardian pavilions, a riding school and a blacksmith's workshop - are built in wood and brick in 1902 by the architect Léon Berthault, adopting the Anglo-Norman style of the main residence (see notice PA00088137).
