Historique
Le domaine de Fouilleuse est acquis en 1898 par Edmond Blanc, riche éleveur et député des Basses-Pyrénées. Sur ce domaine de 83 hectares, il crée les Champs de Courses et d'Entraînement de Saint-Cloud, inaugurés en 1901 sous l'égide de la Société d'Encouragement (voir aussi les notices PA00088139 et PA00088142). Vers 1900, il fait construire par l'architecte Léon Berthault une grande demeure dans le style anglo-normand, accompagnée d'écuries et de dépendances. L'ensemble a été réhabilité entre 1980 et 1984 pour le "Paris Country-Club", avec création de courts de tennis et d'une piscine, occupant la cour des écuries. Un portail de l'ancien château de Grande Fouilleuse, datant du 17e siècle, subsiste.

History
The estate of Fouilleuse is acquired in 1898 by Edmond Blanc, rich breeder and deputy for the Lower Pyrenees. On this estate of 83 hectares, he creates the Racing and Training Courses of Saint-Cloud, inaugurated in 1901 under the auspices of the Society of Encouragement (see also entries PA00088139 and PA00088142). Around 1900, he has built by the architect Léon Berthault a large mansion in the Anglo-Norman style, accompanied by stables and outbuildings. The ensemble was rehabilitated between 1980 and 1984 for the "Paris Country-Club", with creation of tennis courts and a swimming pool, occupying the stable courtyard. A gateway of the former castle of Grande Fouilleuse, dating from the 17th century, subsists.
