Historique
Pont construit vers 450, comprenant trois arches de grandeur inégale. Le pilier central est massif et présente un éperon en aval et en amont. L'éperon situé en amont est plus saillant afin de lutter contre le courant. A la base de ce pilier central se trouve, en saillie sur la pierre et faisant corps avec celle-ci, une tête d'homme qui fut longtemps recouverte par les eaux. Ce pont est précédé et suivi par une voie romaine entièrement pavée. Cet ouvrage a joué un rôle important au cours de la retraite du général Soult et principalement pendant la bataille de La Nivelle. La première arche du pont fut alors détruite pour empêcher le passage de l'artillerie de Wellington. Ce pont a été reconstruit suite à l'effondrement de la pile centrale lors de la crue de décembre 1994.

History
Bridge built around 450, comprising three arches of unequal size. The central pier is massive and presents a cutwater downstream and upstream. The cutwater located upstream is more projecting in order to resist the current. At the base of this central pier is found, projecting on the stone and forming one with it, a human head which was long covered by the waters. This bridge is preceded and followed by an entirely paved Roman road. This structure played an important role during the retreat of General Soult and principally during the Battle of La Nivelle. The first arch of the bridge was then destroyed to prevent the passage of Wellington's artillery. This bridge was rebuilt following the collapse of the central pier during the December 1994 flood.
