Historique
L'ancien magasin des vivres, d'architecture néoclassique, était autrefois situé le long de la Garonne. La construction des quais à la fin du 19e siècle l'a éloigné du fleuve. Le ministère de la Marine adopta le principe de la construction d'un magasin en 1785. Les travaux furent confiés à l'architecte Teulère et se poursuivirent jusqu'au début du 19e siècle. A partir du milieu du 19e siècle se succèdent plusieurs destructions, consécutives entre autre au creusement des bassins à flot et à divers plans d'alignement. La majeure partie des bâtiments a été détruite en décembre 1980. Les bâtiments subsistants présentent, entre deux ailes latérales, un avant corps légèrement en saillie, percé de baies et surmonté d'une forte corniche. Au-dessus, attique coiffé d'une corniche, décoré d'attributs militaires, maritimes et d'un cartouche portant l'inscription "Vivres de la Marine". Des refends, soit horizontaux, soit rayonnants, décorent les façades des pavillons et le côté est du bâtiment.

History
The old provisions store, of neoclassical architecture, was formerly situated along the Garonne. The construction of the quays at the end of the 19th century removed it from the river. The Ministry of the Navy adopted the principle of constructing a store in 1785. The work was entrusted to the architect Teulère and continued until the early 19th century. From the middle of the 19th century there followed several destructions, consequent among other things to the excavation of the tidal basins and various alignment plans. The greater part of the buildings was destroyed in December 1980. The remaining buildings present, between two lateral wings, an avant-corps slightly projecting, pierced by openings and surmounted by a heavy cornice. Above, an attic crowned with a cornice, decorated with military and maritime attributes and with a cartouche bearing the inscription "Provisions of the Navy". Rustication, either horizontal or radiating, decorates the façades of the pavilions and the east side of the building.
