Historique
En 1775 Jean-Pierre Labat de Serene, armateur et négociant en blés et farines, fait l'acquisition du Bourdieu de Mirande et y fait construire en 1784 et 1785 la chartreuse. L'édification de cette dernière se situe dans un contexte de rénovation de l'art architectural dans la région bordelaise due à l'influence de Victor Louis venu à Bordeaux. L'entrée principale est servie par un double perron avec grille en fer forgé. La symétrie de la façade s'exerce par rapport à l'entrée. L'ensemble est surmonté de balustres, volets et fenêtres d'époque. A l'intérieur, deux salons conservent des peintures sur toile dues à Jean-Baptiste Butay, encastrées dans les boiseries. Les salons et les grandes chambres ont tous une cheminée de marbre blanc ou de pierre avec cannelures ou sculptures. Une cave à plusieurs compartiments est située au nord de la demeure.

History
In 1775 Jean-Pierre Labat de Serene, ship-owner and merchant in cereals and flour, acquired the Bourdieu de Mirande and had the chartreuse built there in 1784 and 1785. The erection of the latter takes place in a context of renovation of architectural art in the Bordeaux region due to the influence of Victor Louis who came to Bordeaux. The main entrance is served by a double flight of steps with wrought-iron railing. The symmetry of the façade is arranged with respect to the entrance. The whole is surmounted by balusters, shutters and windows of the period. Inside, two drawing rooms preserve paintings on canvas by Jean-Baptiste Butay, set into the panelling. The drawing rooms and large bedrooms all have a fireplace of white marble or stone with fluting or sculptures. A cellar with several compartments is located to the north of the dwelling.
