Historique
Le portique du 18e siècle de l'ancienne école d'équitation sert d'entrée à un ensemble dû à l'architecte parisien Louis Madeline, construit de 1932 à 1934 et inauguré en 1934. C'est une des réalisations les plus spectaculaires de la politique architecturale et urbaine menée à Bordeaux pendant l'Entre-Deux-Guerres : ensemble comprenant la piscine (bassin d'hiver et bassin découvert) , une maison communale d'éducation physique et des terrains de sport. Construction en béton. Le portique a été construit en 1759 par J. A. Gabriel. A cette époque, l'ouvrage se trouvait contigu au jardin public. The 18th-century portico of the former riding school serves as entrance to a complex due to Parisian architect Louis Madeline, built from 1932 to 1934 and inaugurated in 1934.
