Le château fut établi auprès des vestiges d'un monastère détruit au 16e siècle, près d'une autre abbaye renversée à la même époque. La construction s'étend du 12e au 16e siècle. Le plan est en fer à cheval et comprend une succession de bâtiments. Sur les couvertures s'ouvrent des lucarnes du début du 17e siècle. Une poterne d'entrée donnait autrefois accès au logis. Le portail du 17e siècle est flanqué de deux montoirs. Au début du 20e siècle, divers travaux ont été réalisés : adjonction d'une tourelle percée de fenêtres et d'archères, adjonction de portes-fenêtres, de décors et de blasons. L'intérieur a conservé un escalier à la française du 17e siècle.

History
The castle was established near the vestiges of a monastery destroyed in the 16th century, near another abbey overthrown at the same time. Construction extends from the 12th to the 16th century. The plan is horseshoe-shaped and comprises a succession of buildings. On the roofs open dormers of the beginning of the 17th century. A postern entrance formerly gave access to the main dwelling. The 17th-century portal is flanked by two mounting blocks. At the beginning of the 20th century, various works were carried out: addition of a turret pierced with windows and arrow-slits, addition of French windows, decorations and coats of arms. The interior has retained a French staircase of the 17th century.
