Kuvaus
Yli-Lauroselan talo on rakennettu 1848. Valmistumisvuosi on hakattu talon kivijalkaan.
Historia
Lauroselan kantatilaa, kirkonkylä n:o 7, on asuttu todennäköisesti jo keskiajalta lähtien.
Vuonna 1971 valtio osti Yli-Lauroselan. Talomuseo avattiin yleisölle 1978.

Description
The two-storey main building of the Yli-Lauroselan farmhouse is an outstanding example of Ostrobothnian log-building craftsmanship and the handsome South Ostrobothnian building tradition. It is considered one of the most significant monuments of farmhouse architecture in our country. The construction of the house is linked to the prosperity of South Ostrobothnia in the 19th century, which in Ostrobothnia was based on tar burning and kytö cultivation.
The Yli-Lauroselan building group is located in a central position in the church village of Ilmajoki, at a road junction. The main building and the cowshed, stables, hyysi, carriage and implement shed, puuliiveri, vellisauna, forge and luttirati that surround the yard reflect the way of life of a large farmhouse and together form a rare ensemble.
The Yli-Lauroselan house was built in 1848. The year of completion was carved into the stone foundation of the house. The exterior of the well-proportioned main building shows strong Empire influence: the division of the wall surfaces by pilasters, a strong eaves moulding, six-pane windows with head boards, semicircular windows in the gable triangles, and horizontal vaakaponttivuoraus cladding.
On the ground floor, to the left of the porstua, is the large tupa, together with the master's and mistress's chambers. Behind the porstua is the porstua chamber, and in the right-hand gable end is the erustupa, where puhdetyö was carried out. The room layout on the upper floor corresponds to that of the ground floor.
History
The Laurosela parent farm, church village no. 7, has probably been inhabited since the Middle Ages. Later the farm was divided into two, Ala-Laurosela and Yli-Laurosela. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Yli-Laurosela estate of approx. 350 hectares was divided into seven separate blocks. The home plot, which started at Kyrönjoki, was a strip about 400 metres wide and about 12 kilometres long. It comprised a residential plot, fields and forest. Five meadows and an outlying forest plot were located 8-16 kilometres from the farm; some of the meadows had been cleared into the Alajoki cultivation plain.
The last to run the exemplarily managed farm were the heirs of Juha Yli-Laurosela, the siblings Frans (1882-1962) and Eliina (1876-1953) Yli-Laurosela. After them the farm was owned by the perikunta. In 1971 the state bought Yli-Laurosela. The house museum was opened to the public in 1978.
