The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Kauklahden asema on 1903 liikenteelle avautuneen Helsingin ja Turun välisen rantaradan tyypillinen pieni asema edustavine asuinalueineen.

Kauklahden asema muodostuu kahdesta maantien jakamasta osasta: asemarakennuksesta tavarasuojineen ja asuinalueesta. Kauklahden rautatieasemalla on asemarakennus tavarasuojineen. Bruno Granholmin suunnittelema puinen asemarakennus ei enää ole rautatieliikenteen käytössä, vaan alueella on odotustilana uusi laiturikatos. Edustavalla asuinalueella on kolme asuinrakennusta, joista kaksi on aseman rakentamisen ajalta ja yksi 1950-luvulta sekä viisi talousrakennusta.

Rantarata Helsingistä Turkuun linjattiin Espoon halki Suuren Rantatien eteläpuolelta ja Kauklahden kylän kautta. Kauklahden asema valmistui 1903, jolloin rata avattiin liikenteelle.

The agency's own Swedish text. The English below is made from the Finnish.

Kauklahti station is a typical small station of the Helsinki–Turku coastal line, which opened for traffic in 1903, together with its representative residential area.

Kauklahti station consists of two parts divided by a main road: the station building with its goods shelter, and the residential area. The Kauklahti railway station has a station building with a goods shelter. The wooden station building designed by Bruno Granholm is no longer in railway use. Instead, the area has a new platform canopy serving as a waiting area. The representative residential area has three residential buildings, two of which date from the time the station was built and one from the 1950s, as well as five outbuildings.

The coastal line from Helsinki to Turku was routed through Espoo, south of the Suuri Rantatie road, and via Kauklahti village. Kauklahti station was completed in 1903, when the line opened for traffic. Kauklahti was initially the most important station in Espoo and was graded as a class IV station. Later it lost its significance in relation to the stations of the church village and Grankulla (Kauniainen).
