A porte cochere, scalloped aluminum canopies and an aluminum storefront front the building, with terrazzo and mosaic tile floors and a beadboard ceiling inside. In the 1980s the wrought iron columns were replaced with wood and the motel was repainted from turquoise to coral, and Hurricane Hugo destroyed the 1960s sign in 1989.
Historical context
Roy E. Parrish (1888-1971) and Viola Parrish (1905-1991) owned the motor court until the 1960s. In 1981, owner Robert DuBose bought a nearby home built in 1959, the house closest to the motel, for overflow rooms.
