Across the Great Kanawha River, Daniel Boone, noted frontiersman, lived from about 1788 to 1795; member of Virginia Assembly from Kanawha County, 1791; Lieutenant Colonel of Virginia militia during Indian wars.

1937 text, presented as a historical document. It uses the period's terms for Native and Black people, and tells frontier history from the settler's side.
