Lanford Family Cemetery
Lanford Family Cemetery was founded in 1822. The first person buried here was James Lanford (c.1740-1822), a Revolutionary War veteran who acquired this site and several hundred surrounding acres after the war. The cemetery continued to be used throughout the 1800s and contains at least a dozen graves. The rock wall encircling the graveyard is said to date to its founding.
