Site of Bend City

Bend City was a population center in the middle sixties. It was here that the first county bridge across Owens River was constructed. It was also known as the county seat of Coso County. The 1872 earthquake changed the course of Owens River, and the site of Bend City was left near an empty ravine instead of a river bank.
