Brand Park (Memory Garden)

Brand Park, also called Memory Garden, was given to the city for the purpose of a park November 4, 1920. It is a part of the original land grant of Mission San Fernando de Rey de España. The colorful and picturesque atmosphere of the early California missions is preserved in Memory Garden.

1971 register text, presented as a historical document. It uses the period's terms for Native people; the state's landmark listings still carry most of this wording, and the California Office of Historic Preservation maintains the program's current texts.
