Cadw's description

Spanning the river Alyn and carrying the A 550 approximately 1km S of Hope and 0.5km W of Caergwrle villages.

2-span road bridge dated 1838.

Twin-arched road bridge dated 1838; of sandstone ashlar construction with rough-dressed rubble parapet. Depressed arches with voussoirs and plain projecting band above; between the arches on both upstream and downstream sides are projecting datestones with the inscribed date 1838. There is a slight rise to the centre of the carriageway and the parapet has sandstone coping stones; square terminating piers to splayed approaches.

Listed for its special interest as a large early C19 vernacular road bridge.
