Cadw's description

In the centre of Trellech village about 70m south of the Church of St Nicholas.

A late C18 or early C19 house which may have been an inn from the first. There are large C20 rear extensions.

The building is constructed of red sandstone rubble. It is a three storey central entrance house with an additional service wing to the left. Three sash windows with glazing bars, 8 over 8 panes on the ground and first floors and 4 over 8 on the top floor. The central doorway has a plain door with a flat hood on brackets, this is an alteration since listing in 1972. Slate roof with gable ends and stacks. Two storey service extension on the left. This has a plain door, a 3 over 6 pane sash to each floor and a gable end stack to the left. The rear elevation has an outshut across the whole of its width and then a further double gabled wing projecting to the right, the second gable being behind the service wing. The outshut has three roof lights, with another in the centre to what may be the stair. Casement windows to the wing.

Interior not seen at time of resurvey.

Included as a late C18 village inn and for group value with the other listed buildings in the centre of Trellech village.
