In the small paved area in front of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
History
A chest tomb erected in 1832 or soon after.
Exterior
Chest tomb of William Edmunds, died 1832. Grey limestone with darker base and cap. Eighteenth century style. Monumental chest on two stepped plinth, the upper step is moulded. Chest with corner pilasters in antis with vermiculated blocking. Each face with a finely incised inscription to William Edmunds, died 1832, and other members of his family, each panel with an inscribed frame.
Reason for designation
Included for group value with the Tabernacle Baptist Church, and as a good and well preserved example of a nineteenth century chest tomb of unusual quality for a Baptist cemetery.
