Cadw's description
Location
Farm situated alongside by-road between Cynwyl Gaeo and Crugybar. Main farmyard in front of house; the cooling-house is set back immediately NW of the cowshed.
History
Later C19. Different arrangement of farm buildings indicated on 1841 Tithe map. The farmstead was rebuilt c1845 by the Dolaucothi estate, who were redeveloping much of their property at this time: the cooling house for dairy storage, is later.
Exterior
Small single storey rubble-built cool-house. Slate roof and slated barges. Boarded door to left, cambered brick head. Gauzed rear window, similar head.
Interior
Flight of slate steps down to slate-flagged chamber at semi-basement level.
Reason for designation
Unusual late C19 farm building with special historic interest. Group value with farmhouse.
