Omschrijving
Slot Doornenburg. Omgracht kasteel op ongeveer vierkante plattegrond, voorzien van kantelen, uitgekraagde hoektorentjes en aan de westzijde een gotische trapgevel, waarnaast een slanke spietoren. Het in gedeelten in de loop der 14e en 15e eeuw tot stand gekomen bouwwerk werd in 1937-'42 ingrijpend gerestaureerd, in 1944-'45 verwoest en sedertdien in de vroegere staat herbouwd. Uitgestrekte voorburcht met poort, geflankeerd door ronde torens, een weergang op bogen met half-rond uitgebouwde en een vierkante toren, een gotische kapel met arkeltorentje en driezijdige sluiting, alsmede een kasteel-boerderij.
Houten ophaalbrug naar de poort van de voorburcht, met ophaalmechanisme, en houten loopbrug naar het kasteel.

Description
Castle Doornenburg. Moated castle on an approximately square plan, provided with battlements, corbelled corner turrets and on the west side a Gothic stepped gable, next to which a slender spiked tower. The structure, created in sections in the course of the 14th and 15th centuries, was extensively restored in 1937-'42, destroyed in 1944-'45 and since then rebuilt in its former state. Extensive forecastle with gate, flanked by round towers, a rampart on arches with half-round built-out and a square tower, a Gothic chapel with ark turret and three-sided closure, as well as a castle-farm.
Wooden drawbridge to the gate of the forecastle, with lifting mechanism, and wooden footbridge to the castle.
