Omschrijving
Kapelkerk (O.L. Vrouwe- of St. Janskapel). In oorsprong wellicht stichting der Malthezer ridders; het 15e eeuwse gebouw werd in 1536 met drie traveeën oostelijk verlengd en van een noordbeuk voorzien; in 1707 verrees de noordelijke aanbouw. Herbouw na een brand in 1760, in 1762 opnieuw ingewijd. Koepeltorentje, preekstoel, plafond zijn uit die tijd. Bij de restauratie (1953-1957) werden de rondboogvensters in zuid- en oostgevel, welke in de 19e eeuw waren aangebracht, vervangen door spitsboogvensters overeenkomstig de vroegere toestand. Verder behoren tot de inventaris: negen koperen kronen, twee koperen kaarsenarmen, twee koperen lezenaars, eiken gestoelte met galerij, eiken herenbank. Tweeklaviers orgel met Hoofdwerk en Bovenwerk, in 1762 gemaakt door Chr. Muller. In 1882 gewijzigd door L. Ypma. Klokkenspel bestaande uit 21 klokken van Melchior de Haze en twee klokken van Taylor uit 1928. Klokkenstoel met gelui bestaande uit twee klokken waarvan een klok van K. Description
Chapel church (O.L. Vrouwe or St. Janskapel). Possibly originally a foundation of the Maltese knights; the 15th-century building was extended eastward with three bays in 1536 and provided with a north aisle; in 1707 the northern extension was erected. Rebuilding after a fire in 1760, rededicated in 1762. Cupola turret, pulpit, ceiling are from that time. At the restoration (1953-1957) the round-arch windows in the south and east gable, which had been installed in the 19th century, were replaced by pointed-arch windows in accordance with the earlier state. Furthermore the inventory includes: nine brass crowns, two brass candlesticks, two brass lecterns, oak seating with gallery, oak bench for gentlemen. Two-manual organ with Great Work and Upper Work, made in 1762 by Chr. Muller. In 1882 altered by L. Ypma. Carillon consisting of 21 bells by Melchior de Haze and two bells by Taylor from 1928. Bell frame with peal consisting of two bells, one bell by K. Wegewaert, 1636, diam. 64.5 cm and one bell by J.N. Derck, 1760, diam. 105 cm.
