Omschrijving
MUUR (onderdeel 3). Tuinmuur uit 1750 van indrukwekkende lengte bestaande
uit een dubbele muur waarvan de spouw met leem is gevuld; de muur is
afgedekt door mergelplaten. Het naar het park gekeerde deel van de muur is
opgetrokken in rode baksteen, het naar de weg gekeerde deel van de muur is
opgetrokken in rode baksteen op een onderbouw van mergel. Aan de
binnen(park-)zijde van de muur een stichtingssteen met "Anno 1750". Aan de
westzijde gaat de muur in een kwartcirkel muur in noordelijke richting om.
Dit deel van de muur dateert uit de negentiende eeuw en is opgetrokken uit
rode baksteen met stukken mergel en wordt door kantelen afgesloten. In
noordelijke richting verloopt de muur in een rechte lijn over de
erfscheiding. Laatstgenoemde deel van de muur is in mergelblokken
opgetrokken en wordt aan de bovenzijde door baksteen afgesloten.
Waardering
De MUUR van de historische buitenplaats 't Gasthuis is in cultuurhistorisch
opzicht van algemeen belang vanwege:

Description
WALL (component 3). Garden wall from 1750 of impressive length consisting of a double wall with the cavity filled with clay; the wall is covered with marl slabs. The part of the wall facing the park is constructed in red brick, the part of the wall facing the road is constructed in red brick on a substructure of marl. On the inside (park side) of the wall a foundation stone with "Anno 1750". On the west side the wall transitions into a quarter-circle wall in a northerly direction. This part of the wall dates from the nineteenth century and is constructed in red brick with pieces of marl and is finished with crenellations. In a northerly direction the wall runs in a straight line over the property boundary. The latter part of the wall is constructed in marl blocks and is finished at the top with brick.
