Omschrijving onderdeel 9: op de bijbehorende kaart aangegeven met nr.9a en b
HEKKEN behorende bij de historische buitenplaats Rust en Vreugd. De markering van de zij-ingangen tot de buitenplaats bestaan uit: a. een hek op de splitsing Van Ommerenlaan en Menkenlaan in Eclectische trant daterend uit het midden van de 19de eeuw. Oorspronkelijk stond het hek aan de andere zijde bij de Van der Oudermeulenlaan (dit hek is in 1990 vervangen). Het smeedijzeren spijlen hek met gegoten speerpunten bestaat uit een middeldeel met dubbele hekvleugels tussen decoratief ingevulde staanders. Links hiervan een vast hek en rechts hiervan een enkel loophek; b. een hek nabij de Oud Wassenaarseweg in robuust sobere stijl uit ca.1907. Smeedijzeren hek met stompe spijlen en ruitwerk in het onderste deel tussen twee vrij plompe ronde zuilen op een vierkante sokkel. Op de zuilen staat het opschrift 'rust' en 'vreugd'.

GATES belonging to the historical country estate Rust en Vreugd. The marking of the side entrances to the country estate consist of: a. a gate at the intersection of Van Ommerenlaan and Menkenlaan in Eclectic style dating from the middle of the 19th century. Originally the gate stood on the other side at Van der Oudermeulenlaan (this gate was replaced in 1990). The wrought-iron spear-pointed gate consists of a central part with double gate wings between decoratively filled posts. To the left of this a fixed gate and to the right of this a single pedestrian gate; b. a gate near Oud Wassenaarseweg in robust sober style from c. 1907. Wrought-iron gate with blunt uprights and lattice work in the lower section between two fairly plump round columns on a square base. On the columns is the inscription 'rust' and 'vreugd'.
