HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG; parkaanleg in rijpe landschapsstijl uit omstreeks 1900, waarin enkele onderdelen van de hieraan voorafgaande aanleg bewaard zijn gebleven. Van het tot omstreeks 1900 in sobere formele stijl aangelegde park herinnert nog de rechthoekige moestuin aan de NO-zijde van het park en de lange laan met eiken aan weerszijden aan de westzijde van het park. Beide onderdelen gaan waarschijnlijk terug tot in de 18de eeuw. Omstreeks 1900 liet de toenmalige eigenaar Johan Lodewijk Marggraff, in het vervolg op de bouw van huis en koetshuis in rijke Vlaamse Neorenaissancestijl, door een tot nu toe onbekend gebleven tuinarchitect een aanleg in landschapsstijl realiseren, die een grote schoonheidswaarde vertegenwoordigt en die in zijn geheel bewaard is gebleven. Voor deze aanleg kreeg het terrein-oppervlak een licht glooiende huid. Door het hart van het park van boven naar onderen werd een ruime in curven verlopende waterpartij aan gelegd. Ter hoogte van de achterzijde van het huis verbreedt deze zich tot een oogvormige waterpartij. Aan de achterzijde van het huis werd een parkweide aangelegd met als centrale focus deze waterpartij, met hierachter wederom een groot weide (thans door opschot deels dichtgegroeid). Terzijde (zuidkant) van het huis werd een doorzicht door het park naar buiten vrijgehouden. Ook aan de entreezijde (oprijlaan) is er sprake van een opening van het park naar buiten toe. Voor het overige werd het park door bebossing geheel gesloten ten behoeve van een wandeling over bewaard gebleven slingerpaden. In het parkbos op een heuvel ten noorden van het huis, tegen de rand van de vijverpartij, een begraafplaats die wordt gemarkeerd door een cirkelvormige aanplant van taxus en door een obeliskvormige gedenksteen. In december 2003 werd hier de eigenaar Ewald Marggraff, die bij de brand in het huis in deze maand om het leven was gekomen, begraven. Het zeer rijke assortiment aan bomen en heesters (eik, beuk, plataan, es, magnolia, taxus, acaccia) uit de aanlegtijd van het park in rijpe landschapsstijl is nog herkenbaar aanwezig.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT; park layout in mature landscape style from circa 1900, in which some elements of the preceding layout have been preserved. Of the park laid out in sober formal style until circa 1900, the rectangular vegetable garden on the NE side of the park and the long avenue with oaks on either side on the west side of the park still bear witness. Both elements probably date back to the 18th century. Around 1900, the then owner Johan Lodewijk Marggraff, following on from the construction of house and carriage house in rich Flemish Neo-Renaissance style, had a layout in landscape style realized by a garden architect who has remained unknown to this day, which represents great scenic value and which has been preserved in its entirety. For this layout, the terrain surface was given a slightly undulating appearance. Through the heart of the park from top to bottom a spacious water feature in flowing curves was created. At the rear of the house this widens into an eye-shaped water feature. At the rear of the house a park meadow was laid out with this water feature as the central focus, with beyond it again a large meadow (now partly overgrown with secondary growth). To the side (south side) of the house a vista through the park to the outside was kept free. Also at the entrance side (driveway) the park opens outward. For the rest, the park was completely enclosed by tree planting for the benefit of walks over preserved winding paths. In the park woodland on a hill to the north of the house, against the edge of the water feature, a burial ground which is marked by a circular planting of yew and by an obelisk-shaped memorial stone. In December 2003, the owner Ewald Marggraff, who had perished in the fire in the house in that month, was buried here. The very rich assortment of trees and shrubs (oak, beech, plane tree, ash, magnolia, yew, acacia) from the time of laying out the park in mature landscape style is still recognizably present.
