HOOFDGEBOUW LANDHUIS ZIONSBURG; een omstreeks 1882 opgetrokken monumentaal onderkelderd landhuis in rijke Vlaamse Neorenaissance-stijl. Het huis werd ontworpen door de architect Johannes Jacobus van Nieukerken, in samenwerking met de beeldhouwers Johann Theodoor Stracké en Charles Stracké. Laatstgenoemden leverden vermoedelijk de ontwerpen voor de stenen decoratieve details en toevoegingen en voerden deze uit. Sinds de brand in 2003, die de kap en het inwendige houtwerk van het huis verwoestte, staan een aantal van deze decoratieve toevoegingen, waaronder twee kunststenen leeuwen op sokkel, in de schuur achter het koetshuis opgesteld. Het oorspronkelijk door met leien gedekte schilddaken met dakkapellen overkapte (ijzeren crête) huis is opgetrokken op L-vormige grondslag in rode baksteen met natuurstenen speklagen en natuurstenen waterlijsten tussen de verdiepingen. De gevels worden afgesloten door een geprofileerde goot op consoles. De gevel aan de zuidzijde wordt door een rijke topgevel met rolwerk en fronton in Vlaamse Neorenaissance-stijl afgesloten en wordt bekroond door een in geglazuurd en gekleurd tegelwerk uitgevoerde schoorsteen van vier aanééngesloten ronde pijpen. Aan deze zuidzijde aan de hoek rechts een torenvormige aanbouw, die door een deels bewaarde open koepel wordt afgesloten. Voorts aan de zuidzijde een vijfzijdig uitgebouwde serre onder zinken puntdak. Aan de noordzijde van het huis een één- en twee-laagse aanbouw. De aan de oostzijde gelegen ingangspartij wordt voorafgegaan door een hardstenen bordes. Beganegronds en op de verdieping aan alle zijden vensteropeningen met gebogen vensternissen gevuld met metselmozaïek.

Het HOOFDGEBOUW LANDHUIS ZIONSBURG is in cultuurhistorisch opzicht van algemeen belang

MAIN BUILDING COUNTRY HOUSE ZIONSBURG; a monumental undercellared country house built circa 1882 in rich Flemish Neo-Renaissance style. The house was designed by architect Johannes Jacobus van Nieukerken, in collaboration with sculptors Johann Theodoor Stracké and Charles Stracké. The latter presumably supplied the designs for the stone decorative details and additions and executed them. Since the fire in 2003, which destroyed the roof and internal timber of the house, a number of these decorative additions, including two artificial stone lions on plinths, have been placed in the shed behind the carriage house. The originally slate-covered hipped roofs with roof dormers overtopped (iron crête) house is erected on an L-shaped foundation in red brick with natural stone courses and natural stone drip mouldings between the storeys. The facades are finished with a profiled gutter on consoles. The gable on the south side is finished with a rich top gable with scrollwork and pediment in Flemish Neo-Renaissance style and is crowned by a chimney executed in glazed and coloured tilework of four adjoining round pipes. On this south side at the corner to the right a tower-shaped extension, which is finished with a partly preserved open cupola. Furthermore on the south side a five-sided extended conservatory under zinc ridge roof. On the north side of the house a one- and two-storey extension. The entrance section located on the east side is preceded by a blue stone front steps. On the ground floor and on the storey on all sides window openings with arched window sills filled with brick mosaic.
