Inleiding
Voormalige BEAMBTEWONING, oorspronkelijk met kantoor en artsenvertrek, deel uitmakend van het uit 1930-1933 daterende complex Quarantaine-inrichting en gebouwd in zakelijk-expressionistische trant. Het object is zuidelijk van de voormalige steiger aan de Nieuwe Maas gesitueerd. Begin jaren veertig van de twintigste eeuw is het pand verbouwd tot opzichterswoning.
Omschrijving
Op een U-vormige plattegrond gebouwde BEAMBTEWONING van een bouwlaag en een hoge kapverdieping onder een met rode pannen bedekt overkragend schilddak. De zuidgevel heeft in het midden een loggia grenzend aan een terras. Deze loggia is toegankelijk via een tuindeur die wordt geflankeerd door twee hoge vensters met roedenverdeling. Aan weerszijden van de loggia bevinden zich drie hoge en bredere vensters met roedenverdeling. In het dakschild twee kleine vierkante vensters en in de nok aan weerszijden twee schoorstenen. De noordgevel heeft drie stroken van elk vier hoge twaalfruitsvensters en in het schilddak twee kleine vierkante vensters conform de zuidzijde. Aan de blinde westgevel bevindt zich een kleine en lagere uitbouw met een schilddak waarin aan de noordzijde de hoofdentree van het gebouw en aan de westzijde twee kleine kruisvensters zijn aangebracht. De oostgevel is geheel blind uitgevoerd.

Voormalige BEAMBTEWONING als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex Quarantaine-inrichting, van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde, alsook vanwege de ensemble- en situationele waarde in relatie tot de omringende complexonderdelen.

Introduction
Former OFFICIAL'S RESIDENCE, originally with office and doctor's quarters, forming part of the Quarantine facility complex dating from 1930-1933 and built in pragmatic-expressionistic style. The building is situated south of the former jetty on the Nieuwe Maas. In the early 1940s the building was converted into an overseer's residence.
Description
OFFICIAL'S RESIDENCE built on a U-shaped floor plan of one storey and a high roof space under a hipped roof covered with red tiles. The south gable has in the middle a loggia adjoining a terrace. This loggia is accessible via a garden door flanked by two tall windows with glazing bars. On either side of the loggia are three tall and broader windows with glazing bars. In the roof section two small square windows and in the ridge on either side two chimneys. The north gable has three strips of each four tall twelve-pane windows and in the hipped roof two small square windows conforming to the south side. On the blind west gable is a small and lower extension with a hipped roof in which on the north side the main entrance of the building and on the west side two small cross windows are provided. The east gable is entirely blind.
