Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 2: HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Borgharen.
De middeleeuwse structuur van de aanleg wordt gevormd door het trapeziumvormige, ruim omgrachte kasteelterrein en een buiten de gracht gelegen singel aan drie zijden, die geheel ommuurd is (zie onderdeel 7) en beplant met knotlinden in laanverband (noordwest en zuidoost). De gracht wordt door de Canjelbeek gevoed.
Op het binnen de omgrachting gelegen terrein rondom het kasteel is kleine landschappelijke aanleg met oude bomen en enkele rode beuken.
Over de zuidwestgracht ligt een brug naar de singel; vanaf deze plaats een doorzicht over de aangrenzende weilanden.
Aan de voorzijde gazon met buxusbosjes en twee Italiaanse peppels. Op laat 19de-eeuwse foto's is te zien dat het voorterrein voor het kasteel - buiten de gracht - een inrichting kende met verschillende soorten taxus en conifeer; aan weerszijden van de toegangsbrug lagen verhoogde bloemperken.
Tegenover het kasteelterrein aan de noordoostzijde ligt een terrein met de ommuurde moestuin en de kasteelhoeve (zie de kadastrale minuut van 1827 en een kaart van 1842). De boomgaard lag daarachter, meer naar het oosten toe en was voorzien van een ovaal/padenkruis. Door beplantingen is dit terrein afgeschermd, waardoor de beleving en visuele eenheid is verstoord. Ten noordwesten van de kasteelhoeve liggen boomgaarden.
Waardering
De HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Borgharen is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de gaaf bewaarde oude structuur van huisplaats, rechthoekige gracht en singel met laanbeplanting;
- vanwege de kleinschalige landschappelijke aanleg met oude bomen;

Description
Description component 2: HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the estate Borgharen.
The medieval structure of the layout is formed by the trapezoidal, extensively moated castle plot and a berm outside the moat on three sides, which is entirely walled (see component 7) and planted with pollard lindens in avenue formation (northwest and southeast). The moat is fed by the Canjelbeek.
On the plot within the moating situated around the castle is small landscape layout with old trees and several red beeches.
Over the southwest moat lies a bridge to the berm; from this location a vista over the adjoining meadows.
At the front lawn with box copses and two Italian stone pines. On late 19th-century photographs it can be seen that the forecourt in front of the castle - outside the moat - was arranged with various types of yew and conifer; on either side of the access bridge lay raised flower beds.
Opposite the castle plot on the northeast side lies a plot with the walled vegetable garden and the castle farm (see the cadastral plan of 1827 and a map of 1842). The orchard lay behind this, further to the east and was provided with an oval/path cross. Through plantings this plot is screened off, by which the visual experience and visual unity are disturbed. To the northwest of the castle farm lie orchards.
