Omschrijving onderdeel 8:
In de beek van het complex historische buitenplaats Leyduin aangebrachte WATERWERKEN, van 18de-eeuwse oorsprong, maar later, 19de eeuw en vroeg 20ste eeuw vernieuwd. Dit betreft:
- een duiker met gemetselde keermuur afgedekt met natuurstenen platen en boogvormige opening aangebracht op het punt waar de beek op het landgoed binnenkomt aan de zijde van de Vogelenzangseweg;
- een stelsel van water in- en uitlaten met boogvormige openingen en houten schuiven in gemetselde keermuren ter hoogte van het koetshuis/de dienstwoning en de alhier gelegen cascade;
- een gemetselde boogbrug met aansluitende gemetselde kademuren op het punt waar de beek de Eerste Leyweg kruist.
Waardering
De WATERWERKEN in de beek zijn van algemeen belang vanwege:
- de tuinhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een cascade;

WATERWORKS inserted in the stream of the complex historical country estate Leyduin, of 18th-century origin, but later, 19th century and early 20th century renewed. This concerns:
- a culvert with brick-laid retaining wall covered with natural stone plates and arched opening inserted at the point where the stream enters the estate on the side of the Vogelenzangseweg;
- a system of water inlets and outlets with arched openings and wooden sluices in brick-laid retaining walls at the height of the coach house/service house and the cascade located here;
- a brick-laid arched bridge with adjoining brick-laid quay walls at the point where the stream crosses the Eerste Leyweg.

The WATERWORKS in the stream are of general importance on account of:
- the garden-historical value as an example of a cascade;
- the historical value (dune water extraction);
- the ensemble value of the spatial-functional relationship of the components.
