Omschrijving onderdeel 1:
HOOFDGEBOUW (Zuidewijn). Het in oorsprong 15de-eeuwse edelmanhuis is aan het einde van de 16de eeuw, met gebruikmaking van oudere delen, herbouwd waarvan het vooruitspringende middenstuk en de haaks daarop staande zijvleugel (links) met zij-trapgevel dagtekent; bij een grote verbouwing in de 17de eeuw is de rechtervleugel met (halve) trapgevel toegevoegd. In 1763 is het huis nogmaals uitgebreid en zodanig verbouwd, dat de vensters vergroot zijn en voorzien van ramen met kleine roedenverdeling en luiken. De luiken zijn geschilderd in de heraldische kleuren van de familie De Roy van Zuidewijn. Het uit rechthoekige bouwvolumes geel bakstenen pand bestaat uit twee bouwlagen, aan de voorzijde beëindigd door lijstgevels, en overkapt door met gesmoorde pannen gedekte schilddaken met trapgevels. De vierassige vooruitspringende voorgevel is in twee fasen opgetrokken met links het 16de-eeuwse deel en rechts het 17de-eeuwse deel waarin twee opkamervensters met luiken. Uiterst links is de entreepartij bestaande uit een toegangsdeur met bovenlicht gevat in omlijsting met kroonlijst op voluutvormige consoles uit het begin van de 19de eeuw; in het bovenlicht een rozet en bloemvormige roeden. Op de nok een houten dakruiter met klok. Aansluitend het terugliggende deel met vier vensterassen. Tussen de noordelijke zijgevel en het koetshuis staat een bakstenen MUUR onder een ezelsrug die de voorplaats afsluit; in de muur een getoogde poortje; ook vanaf de zuidelijke zijgevel loopt een bakstenen muur met tandlijst en onder een ezelsrug. Tegen de muur een MUURFONTEIN van mortel, vermoedelijk een replica uit de laat 19de / vroeg 20ste eeuw. De achtergevel geeft een onregelmatig aanzien met verspringende bouwvolumes van verschillende hoogten met deels de oude en deels vernieuwde vensters. De tekstplaat (1872) aan de achterzijde is van Belgisch hardsteen. Tegen de zijgevel (zuid) een uitgebouwd privaat. In het INTERIEUR is onder meer van belang een 16de- en 18de-eeuwse deur; 17de-eeuwse kariatide aan trapleuning; schoorsteel in Lodewijk XVI-stijl; oude balkenzolderingen.

Description of component 1:
MAIN BUILDING (Zuidewijn). The originally 15th-century manor house was rebuilt at the end of the 16th century, using older parts, from which the projecting central section and the right-angled side wing (left) with side stepped gable date; during a major renovation in the 17th century the right wing with (half) stepped gable was added. In 1763 the house was further extended and so substantially remodelled that the windows were enlarged and fitted with sashes with small glazing bars and shutters. The shutters are painted in the heraldic colours of the De Roy van Zuidewijn family. The building, composed of rectangular volumes of yellow brick, comprises two storeys, terminated at the front by cornice-topped facades, and covered by hipped roofs tiled with hollow tiles and topped with stepped gables. The four-bay projecting front facade was erected in two phases with the 16th-century section on the left and the 17th-century section on the right containing two attic windows with shutters. At the far left is the entrance section consisting of an access door with fanlight set within a surround with cornice on volute-shaped consoles from the early 19th century; in the fanlight a rosette and flower-shaped glazing bars. On the ridge a wooden roof turret with bell. Adjacent the recessed section with four window bays. Between the northern side facade and the coach house stands a brick WALL under a half-hipped roof moulding which closes off the forecourt; in the wall a chamfered gateway; also from the southern side facade runs a brick wall with dentil course and under a half-hipped roof moulding. Against the wall a MURAL FOUNTAIN of mortar, presumably a replica from the late 19th / early 20th century. The rear facade presents an irregular appearance with staggered building volumes of different heights with partly original and partly renewed windows. The inscribed stone (1872) on the rear side is of Belgian hardstone. Against the side facade (south) an adjoining privy. In the INTERIOR, notably important are a 16th- and 18th-century door; 17th-century caryatid on stair rail; chimneypiece in Louis XVI style; old beam ceilings.
