Omschrijving onderdeel 11: HERMITAGE.
Op een heuvel in de Haksbelten ligt aan de rondwandeling door de Gernerbelten en bij de Rododendronvallei een uit stammetjes en vlechtwerk samengestelde HERMITAGE. Voor het eerst staat dit bouwwerk aangegeven op de TMK van 1846. Bouwwerk op rechthoekige plattegrond onder een rieten dak met aan drie zijden een schild tegen een puntgevel aan de voorzijde. Tegen de voorgevel met vlechtwerk een hartvormig schild met de spreuk ' Contritum et humiliatum deus non despicies'.
Indeling met voor en achterstuk, gescheiden door een lage wand van vlechtwerk, met een deur. De inwendige constructie is van boomstammetjes samengesteld.

De HERMITAGE, behorend tot de historische buitenplaats Vilsteren is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:

Description
Description of component 11: HERMITAGE.
On a hill in the Haksbelten lies along the circular walk through the Gernerbelten and by the Rhododendron Valley a HERMITAGE assembled from logs and wickerwork. This structure first appears on the TMK of 1846. Building on a rectangular footprint under a thatched roof with shields on three sides against a pointed gable at the front. Against the front facade with wickerwork a heart-shaped shield with the saying 'Contritum et humiliatum deus non despicies'.
Layout with front and rear section, separated by a low wall of wickerwork, with a door. The internal construction is assembled from tree logs.
