Omschrijving onderdeel 12: KOEPEL.
Rond 1920 gebouwde KOEPEL behorend bij Huis Vilsteren. De koepel ligt circa een kilometer noordelijk van het huis Vilsteren, net niet in de as van het huis. De koepel staat op een oude rivierduin van een inmiddels dode rivierarm van de Vecht en vervangt een exemplaar uit 1854 dat op zijn beurt de opvolger van een houten koepel op die plaats was.
Halfrond bouwwerk met witgepleisterde bakstenen gevel onder een rietgedekt, overstekend dak. De open zijde is naar het zuiden gericht en heeft aan beide zijden een pilaar op vierkante grondslag met eenvoudige kapitelen. De dakrand wordt afgesloten door windveren met zaagtand.
De vloer heeft een klinkerbestrating, langs de binnenwanden van de koepel is een halfronde houten bank geplaatst.

Description
Description component 12: CUPOLA.
A CUPOLA built around 1920 belonging to Huis Vilsteren. The cupola is located approximately one kilometre north of Huis Vilsteren, just outside the axis of the house. The cupola stands on an old river dune from a now-defunct arm of the Vecht river and replaces an example from 1854 which in turn was the successor to a wooden cupola on that site.
A hemispherical structure with whitewashed brick facade beneath a thatched roof with overhanging eaves. The open side faces south and has a pillar on a square base with simple capitals on both sides. The roof edge is finished with wind vanes with sawtooth pattern.
The floor has a clinker paving; along the inner walls of the cupola a semicircular wooden bench is placed.
