Omschrijving onderdeel 1: HOOFDGEBOUW.
Nabij de oude kern van Velsen aan de westzijde van de buitenplaats gesitueerd midden 17de-eeuws licht gepleisterd classicistisch landhuis van drie bouwlagen op rechthoekige plattegrond en gedekt door een omlopend met gesmoorde pannen gedekt schilddak. Het huis werd in ieder geval vòòr 1662 opgetrokken, getuige het portret uit dat jaar van de bouwheer Jeremaia van Collen met zijn familie met het huis op de achtergrond. De op het zuiden gelegen voorgevel met een hoofdgestel van kroonlijst en tandlijst, bestaat uit 7 traveeën met daarin een middenrisaliet van 3 traveeën. De middenrisaliet wordt links en rechts begrensd door geblokte lisenen en aan de bovenzijde bekroond door een attiek. Voor de middanrisaliet bevindt zich een bordestrap in natuursteen met acht treden links en rechts vier plateaus voor potten met planten. Alle vensters zijn omlijst en hebben een gebogen bovendorpel; die op de bel-etage en de verdieping (voorzijde) hebben zgn. oren. In het souterrain 2-ruitsvensters met een symmetrisch ornament aan de bovenzijde. De 6-ruits Empire vensters op de bel-etage en de 4-ruits Empire vensters op de verdieping van de voorgevel vertonen een rocaille ornament aan de bovenzijde en hebben louvre-luiken. De ingangspartij is licht risalerend. Daarin een dubbele deur met bovenlicht en een breed venster op de verdieping. Op het attiek is het gemeentewapen van Velsen aangebracht en daarboven een banderolle. Op de attiek staat een siervaas met guirlande. Links en rechts van de attiek een balustrade. Op de vier hoeken van het dak schoorstenen voorzien van borden, waarboven tentdakjes met windwijzers. Aan de rechter zijde is een jongere (19de-eeuwse) aanbouw geplaatst onder schilddak, die iets naar voren springt en uit 3 bouwlagen bestaat. In het souterrain twee kleine vierkante raampjes. Op de bel-etage pilasters met kapiteel naast 8-ruitsvensters. Tussen de bel-etage en de verdieping waterlijsten en op de verdieping een vierruiter. De vensters van dit jongere bouwlichaam hebben rechte bovendorpels en geen Louvre-luiken. De kroonlijst met tandlijst is gelijk aan die van het oudere deel.
De linker zijgevel heeft twee 6-ruits Empire vensters op de bel-etage en één venster op de verdieping. Aan deze zijde een dakkapel met hijsbalk en gebogen bovendorpel. Veel muurankers. De daklijst wordt gedragen door consoles.
In 1939 zijn een deel van de muur van de vroegere moestuin en het toegangspoortje aan de oostzijde van het landhuis herbouwd.
De achtergevel kent centraal een lage uitbouw met daarin een ovale zaal, die van buiten is te betreden via een dubbele deur aan de noordzijde. De achtergevel is 9 traveeën breed, heeft 6-ruits Empire vensters op de bel-etage en 4-ruitsvensters op de verdieping. De dakkapellen zijn voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang.
Interieur. De hall bezit een vloer bezet met marmerplaten. De meeste kamers op de begane grond hebben plafonds met stucornamenten. Enkele vertrekken hebben een stookplaats met marmeren schoorsteenmantel. Vanuit de achterkamer links van de hall leiden verborgen deuren naar de ovale zaal aan de achterzijde van het gebouw. In de keuken oude witte tegels en twee tegeltableaus in blauw met daarop een hond en een kat.
Het landhuis is sinds 1995 eigendom van de advocatenmaatschap Tanger, die het huis heeft gerestaureerd.
Waardering
Het HOOFDGEBOUW landhuis Velserbeek is in cultuurhistorisch opzicht van algemeen belang:
-vanwege de ouderdom;
-vanwege de gaafheid, met name van het exterieur;

Situated near the old nucleus of Velsen on the west side of the country estate, a mid-17th-century lightly rendered Classicist country house of three storeys on a rectangular ground plan and covered by a hipped roof clad with mortared tiles. The house was erected at least before 1662, as evidenced by the portrait from that year of the builder Jeremaia van Collen with his family with the house in the background. The front facade facing south with a main section of cornice and dentil moulding consists of 7 bays with a central risalit of 3 bays. The central risalit is bounded on the left and right by rusticated pilasters and crowned at the top by an attic. Before the central risalit is a flight of steps in natural stone with eight steps and on both sides four platforms for plant pots. All windows are framed and have a curved upper lintel; those on the piano nobile and the first floor (front) have so-called ears. In the basement 2-pane windows with a symmetrical ornament at the top. The 6-pane Empire windows on the piano nobile and the 4-pane Empire windows on the first floor of the front facade display a rocaille ornament at the top and have louvre shutters. The entrance section is slightly protruding. It contains a double door with fanlight and a broad window on the first floor. On the attic the municipal coat of arms of Velsen is displayed and above it a scroll. On the attic stands an ornamental vase with garland. On either side of the attic a balustrade. On the four corners of the roof chimneys provided with weatherboards, above which pyramidal roof caps with weathervanes. On the right side a younger (19th-century) extension has been placed under a hipped roof, which projects slightly forward and consists of 3 storeys. In the basement two small square windows. On the piano nobile pilasters with capitals beside 8-pane windows. Between the piano nobile and the first floor drip mouldings and on the first floor a 4-pane window. The windows of this younger building section have straight upper lintels and no louvre shutters. The cornice with dentil moulding is the same as that of the older part.
The left side facade has two 6-pane Empire windows on the piano nobile and one window on the first floor. On this side a dormer window with hoist beam and curved upper lintel. Many ornamental wall anchors. The roof cornice is supported by corbels.
In 1939 part of the wall of the former kitchen garden and the access gateway on the east side of the country house were rebuilt.
The rear facade has centrally a low extension containing an oval hall, which can be entered from outside via a double door on the north side. The rear facade is 9 bays wide, has 6-pane Empire windows on the piano nobile and 4-pane windows on the first floor. The dormer windows are of subordinate importance for protection.
Interior. The hall has a floor laid with marble slabs. Most rooms on the ground floor have ceilings with stucco ornaments. Some rooms have a fireplace with marble chimneypiece. From the back room to the left of the hall hidden doors lead to the oval hall at the rear of the building. In the kitchen old white tiles and two tile panels in blue with a dog and a cat depicted.
The country house has been the property of the law firm Tanger since 1995, which has restored the house.
