HUIS TE BRAKEL. Bouwwerk bestaande uit een rechthoekig hoofdgebouw met verdieping en omlopend schilddak, een daaraan vast gebouwd een tussenlid, een stalgebouw en een tuinmanswoning. Het in 1768 opgetrokken gebouw ter plaatse van het voormalige 16de-eeuwse (?) poortgebouw werd in 1811 gemoderniseerd. Het huis werd door een tussenlid in de vorm van een kapel met klokkentorentje met het stalgebouw verbonden. Het huis Brakel staat op een rechthoekige plattegrond, is zeven traveeën breed, twee verdiepingen en een zolder hoog, opgetrokken van rode baksteen, die aan rivierzijde met een witte pleisterlaag is afgewerkt en wordt met een omlopend schilddak afgesloten. Vensters met zesruitsverdeling. Voordeur met gesneden omlijsting en fraai gesneden bovenlicht met ranken. Aan de voorzijde is na 1981 een nieuwe toegang gemaakt die buiten de bescherming valt. Van het oorspronkelijke stalgebouw onder schilddak is het muurwerk met de ronde bogen aan de voorzijde gespaard gebleven. Aan de rivierzijde is na 1981 een aantal ramen bijgemaakt. Aan de zuidwestkant is in de jaren 1890 een dienstwoning aangebouwd van een bouwlaag onder zadeldak met de daknok haaks op de voorgevel. Daarin een deur en twee zesruitsvensters. HOUSE TE BRAKEL. Building consisting of a rectangular main structure with upper storey and surrounding hipped roof, adjoined by an intermediate section, a stable building and a gardener's cottage. The building erected in 1768 in place of the former 16th-century (?) gatehouse was modernised in 1811. The house was connected to the stable building by an intermediate section in the form of a chapel with a small bell tower. House Brakel stands on a rectangular ground plan, is seven bays wide, two storeys and an attic high, built of red brick, which is finished with a white rendered layer on the riverside side and is covered with a surrounding hipped roof. Windows with six-pane glazing. Front door with carved surround and finely carved fanlight with scrollwork. In the interior, the 16th-century barrel vault cellar under the northeastern part of the house is of particular note. This is a remnant of the original gatehouse of Slot te Brakel. In a number of rooms there is an old fireplace (19th-century on the ground floor and 18th-century on the upper storey). Of the original kitchen, the large fireplace and a bake oven remain. The chapel-like intermediate section is only visible on the riverside side.
