Omschrijving onderdeel 3: BOUWHUIS.
Het BOUWHUIS (het zgn. koetshuis) op het voorplein voor kasteel Biljoen dateert uit het einde van de 18de eeuw (het nog werkende uurwerk dateert uit 1792), toen het na een brand werd herbouwd. In het bouwhuis zijn twee woningen, schuren, garages en kantoorruimte ondergebracht. Het deels onderkelderde bouwhuis heeft in aanzien een blokvormig uiterlijk, maar bestaat uit twee evenwijdige bouwvolumes die met elkaar zijn verbonden door twee hoge muren die de voor- en de achtergevel vormen. Binnen de muren en de bouwvolumes ligt een binnenplaats. Het gebouw is opgetrokken in een rode baksteen en heeft een thans grijze plint, okergele accenten en groen geschilderde kozijnen en ramen. De beide vleugels worden overkapt door zadeldaken en aan de voorzijde bestaat de kap uit een flauw lessenaarsdak. De daken zijn thans bedekt met dakleer. Rondom de kap loopt een gekropte, met empire-elementen gedecoreerde kroonlijst.
In de voorgevel, met midden- en zijrisalieten en omgaande lisenen op de hoeken, centraal een nis waarin op een sokkel (in 2000 in mergel vervangen) een 19de-eeuws (witgeschilderd keramiek) beeld van Ceres staat. Op de verdieping een klok, verdiepte blinde nissen en meerruits schuifvensters. In de linker zijgevel drie grote deuren (baanders en schuifdeuren) en meerruits vensters. De rechter zijgevel is voorzien van een hoge stoep met entree omgeven door pilasters en kroonlijst en balustrade, meerruits schuifvensters en getoogde vensters in het souterrain. De muur die de beide bouwdelen van het koetshuis met elkaar verbindt en mede de achtergevel van het koetshuis vormt, zwenkt in. In de achtergevel ondermeer centraal een getoogde baander, meerruits schuifvensters, blindnissen, een entree met bovenlicht en vensters in het souterrain. Oorspronkelijk stonden op het bouwhuis houten beelden.
Het INTERIEUR van het bouwhuis is grotendeels nog ongewijzigd.

Het BOUWHUIS behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Biljoen is van algemeen belang:

Description of component 3: COACH HOUSE.
The COACH HOUSE (the so-called coach house) on the forecourt before castle Biljoen dates from the end of the 18th century (the still functioning clock mechanism dates from 1792), when it was rebuilt following a fire. The coach house contains two dwellings, sheds, garages and office space. The partly basement coach house has a block-like appearance, but consists of two parallel building volumes connected to each other by two high walls that form the front and rear facades. Within the walls and building volumes lies an inner courtyard. The building is constructed of red brick and has a now grey plinth, ochre-yellow accents and green-painted window frames and windows. Both wings are covered by gabled roofs and on the front side the roof consists of a shallow lean-to roof. The roofs are now covered with roof felt. Around the roof runs a mutule cornice decorated with empire elements.
In the front facade, with central and side risalits and surrounding pilasters on the corners, centrally a niche in which stands a 19th-century (white-painted ceramic) statue of Ceres on a pedestal (replaced in mergel in 2000). On the upper storey a clock, recessed blind niches and multi-pane sash windows. In the left side facade three large doors (French doors and sliding doors) and multi-pane windows. The right side facade is provided with a high entrance stoep surrounded by pilasters and cornice and balustrade, multi-pane sash windows and arched windows in the basement. The wall connecting the two building elements of the coach house with each other and also forming the rear facade of the coach house curves inward. In the rear facade among other things centrally an arched French door, multi-pane sash windows, blind niches, an entrance with fanlight and windows in the basement. Originally wooden statues stood on the coach house.
