Omschrijving onderdeel 4: VOORPLEIN MET KEERMUREN EN BRUGGEN.
Voor kasteel Biljoen ligt een omgracht en geheel ommuurd VOORPLEIN waarop het bouwhuis staat, vermoedelijk daterend uit de 18de eeuw. De bakstenen KEERMUREN zijn op enkele plaatsen van trapjes voorzien. Aan de noordzijde leidt een trap met natuurstenen treden naar een eenvoudig houten brug waarop een zwart geschilderd smeedijzeren hekje met een draaibare vleugel staat. Aan de zuidzijde is eenzelfde trap gesitueerd op een plek waar voorheen een trekbootje lag dat met de overzijde van de gracht in verbinding stond. Thans staan er nog twee gecanneleerde zuilen met Ionische kapitelen waarop een bol. Daarnaast een muur opgetrokken van sintels, zodat de muur een rotsachtig aanzien heeft.
De muren van de uitzwenkende dubbele RONDBOOGBRUG die het kasteeleiland met het voorplein verbindt zijn voorzien van een natuurstenen wapen (van Anna Polowna), natuurstenen balusters met voet- en dekplaten, en tien natuurstenen leeuwen en beren die wapens dragen. De leeuwen en beren staan op voetstukken met verdiepte velden. De keermuren naast de toegang tot de brug zijn gedecoreerd met natuurstenen voluten.
De in rode baksteen opgetrokken, driedubbele RONDBOOGBRUG naar het voorplein heeft hoge muren (deels keermuren) voorzien van een ezelsrug. Deze brug dateert van kort na de Tweede Wereldoorlog en vervangt een houten brug.

Het VOORPLEIN MET KEERMUREN EN BRUGGEN behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Biljoen is van algemeen belang:

Description
Description of component 4: FORECOURT WITH RETAINING WALLS AND BRIDGES.
Before castle Biljoen lies a moated and entirely walled FORECOURT on which the coach house stands, presumably dating from the 18th century. The brick RETAINING WALLS are provided with small steps in a few places. On the north side a staircase with natural stone steps leads to a simple wooden bridge on which a black-painted wrought-iron gate with a swinging wing stands. On the south side an identical staircase is situated at a location where formerly a towing boat lay that connected with the opposite side of the moat. Now two fluted pillars with Ionic capitals surmounted by a sphere still stand there. Beside it a wall constructed of cinder blocks, so that the wall has a rocky appearance.
The walls of the outswinging double ROUND-ARCH BRIDGE connecting the castle island with the forecourt are provided with a natural stone coat of arms (of Anna Polowna), natural stone balusters with foot and coping plates, and ten natural stone lions and bears carrying coats of arms. The lions and bears stand on pedestals with recessed fields. The retaining walls beside the access to the bridge are decorated with natural stone volutes.
The triple ROUND-ARCH BRIDGE constructed of red brick to the forecourt has high walls (partly retaining walls) provided with a ridge. This bridge dates from shortly after the Second World War and replaces a wooden bridge.
