Inleiding:
De damsluis ligt in het Valleikanaal in de gemeente Utrechtse Heuvelrug op de plaats waar tijdens de aanleg van de linie de Broekersloot lag en diende voor de regulering en doorvoer van het inundatiewater aangevoerd vanaf de Neder Rijn en dat bestemd was voor de noordelijk gelegen inundatiekommen. s
Omschrijving:
In 1843 aangelegd WATERWERK, bestaande uit een damsluis. De Damsluis is uitgevoerd in metselwerk met deels hardstenen schotbalksponningen en hoekprofielen. Op de damsluis ligt een moderne metalen spoorbrug.
De afmetingen van de damsluis zijn maximaal 19,2 bij 11,6 meter inclusief de twee landhoofden. De sluis heeft twee doorstroomopeningen, elk 5 meter breed, gescheiden door een middenpenant van 11,20 bij 1,50 meter. Verder heeft de sluis 2 x 2 schotbalksponningen aan beide uiteinden van de sluis.
