Inleiding:
De kazemat is in 1939-1940 gebouwd in het kader van de versterking van de Valleistelling en bevindt zich op de Asschatterkade. Het is één van de in totaal 9 kazematten uit deze periode die op deze keerkade en het op de kade gelegen voorwerk nog resteren.
Omschrijving:
In 1939-1940 aangelegd VERDEDIGINGSWERK, bestaande uit een betonnen mitrailleurkazemat van het type B. De kazemat is gebouwd in het kader van de versterking van de Valleistelling en is gelegen tegen en in de zuidzijde van de kade.
Het betreft hier een flankerende betonkazemat. De kazemat was bewapend met een zware mitrailleur en was bedoeld voor flankerend vuur. De vijandzijde is gedekt door 1,20 m gewapend beton, terwijl het dak 1 meter dik is en de achterzijde 80 cm. Het schietgat met een schootsveld van 40 graden is gedekt door een uitsteeksel van beton, zodat de opening voor de vijand moeilijk was waar te nemen. De deur was uitgerust met een geweerschietgat. De kazemat heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond met afmetingen van 4,5 bij 3,45 meter, exclusief een uitkragende funderingsrand van 0,2 meter.
