Inleiding
WATERLOPEN gelegen op het Hembrugterrein bij het Sectorpark Zaandam en zogenaamde B-cluster, die deel uitmaken van een systeem van waterlopen dat de waterhuishouding op het terrein regelde. Het systeem waterde af op Zijkanaal G middels een (nog aanwezige) duiker. De waterlopen waren ook bedoeld om de verspreiding van mogelijke terreinbranden tegen te gaan en als reservoir voor bluswater. Bij het B-cluster kwam daar nog bij dat de waterlopen ook als terreinafscheiding dienden. De waterlopen zijn derhalve een essentieel onderdeel van de bedrijfsvoering en een beeldbepalend aanlegelement van de munitie- en wapenfabriek.
De waterlopen bij cluster B en het vm. Sectorpark zijn vrijwel gaaf en maken bovendien deel uit van aangewezen clusters van gebouwen die een fase in het productieproces of de gebruiksgeschiedenis van de munitie- en wapenfabriek illustreren. Voor de omvang van de bescherming wordt verwezen naar de zogenaamde bolletjeskaart die deel uitmaakt van de aanwijzing als rijksmonument.

Introduction
WATERCOURSES located on the Hembrugterrein at the Sectorpark Zaandam and the so-called B-cluster, which form part of a system of watercourses that regulated the water management on the site.
