Omschrijving

Description
Description
HOUSE ZWANENBURG WITH ATTACHED FARMHOUSE. Huis Zwanenburg is composed of four building sections dating from the sixteenth century, the seventeenth century (first and second half) and the first half of the nineteenth century. All facades are finished with a white coat of paint. The oldest section on the south-east side of the complex is two storeys and an attic storey high and stands under a steep gabled roof (saddle roof) covered with blue tiles between a stepped gable (front) and spout gable (rear). The windows and door in this section are the product of the restoration of the 1950s. In the masonry of the south-east facade are visible the traces of two nineteenth-century floor-level windows and the place where wooden cladding was attached. In the masonry of the south-west facade are visible the traces of two nineteenth-century windows. The window on the upper floor and the roof dormer are products of the restoration of the 1950s. Also visible is the roof gable of the bakehouse that De Haen depicted in his eighteenth-century print. The early seventeenth-century section attached to this, on the north-west side, is two storeys and an attic storey high and stands under a gabled roof (saddle roof) covered with blue tiles against a stepped gable with chimney. Also visible is the roof gable of the bakehouse that De Haen depicted in his eighteenth-century print. The late seventeenth-century section attached to this, likewise on the north-west side, is two storeys and an attic storey high and stands under a gabled roof (saddle roof) covered with blue tiles (north-east roof plane) and red tiles (south-west roof plane) between spout gables. Door and windows are products of the restoration of the 1950s. Beside the front door a commemorative plaque with: 'Lodewijk Henrick Zeger Baron van Boetzelaer, born 11 IX 1921 at Huis Zwanenburg, gave on 21 XII 1944 at Raalte his life in the struggle for freedom'. Built between the oldest section and the late seventeenth-century section, a component from the first half of the nineteenth century, one storey and an attic storey high, under a gabled roof (saddle roof) covered with blue tiles against a spout gable. The north-east facade is blank. In the south-east facade, the leftmost window is a product of the restoration of the 1950s, as are the windows on the upper floor. The other windows are in Empire style with arched termination. In the interior, the individual building masses are recognisable. The decoration of most rooms is the product of the restoration of the 1950s. The sitting room on the ground floor in the nineteenth-century section has a composite beam ceiling and a large fireplace in seventeenth-century forms. The eighteenth-century painted wallpaper with landscape representations was also introduced during the restoration. The room in the fifteenth-/sixteenth-century section has a composite beam ceiling, fireplace and cross windows in seventeenth-century forms. The kitchen in the early seventeenth-century section is provided with an (original) composite beam ceiling with corbels and inward and outward swept consoles. Large fireplace with partly original blue figurative tiles. In the fireplace two (blocked) niches from the nineteenth century as a through-view to the stable. Pot cupboard and smoke flap to the right of the fireplace. The cellar in the late seventeenth-century section is accessible from the kitchen, the corridor and the farmhouse and has a barrel vault. The roof truss structures above the sixteenth-century section, both roof truss structures above the seventeenth-century sections, as well as the roof truss structure on the nineteenth-century section are original.
Against the north-west side of the house, a FARMHOUSE was attached around 1867. It is a substantial hall-type farmhouse with the residential section on the north-east side. The stable section is subdivided with transversely placed tie-beam trusses and small walls in bays. One of the walls is constructed of field stones. On the south-west side an extension under a lean-to roof from the early twentieth century. The substantial hipped roof is covered with blue tiles. In the long facades, double doors and various windows. In the residential section, the cellar under the upper room has been blocked. In the living room, the large fireplace is still present.
